Exchange with MEP Engin Eroğlu: Focus on Entrepreneurship and Self-Employment

As part of the SME meets Politics initiative launched during the European elections, our working group OPCs, Self-Employment, and Entrepreneurship held a discussion with MEP Engin Eroğlu. The goal of this format is to foster dialogue between European policymakers and the smallest entrepreneurs, addressing challenges and exploring opportunities together.

Engin Eroğlu, Member of the European Parliament, took the time to answer participants’ questions and share his perspectives. It became clear that for solo entrepreneurs and self-employed individuals, it is crucial to address their specific needs in various programs and to better consider the indirect impacts of legislation on this group. Key topics of the discussion included promoting entrepreneurship and recognizing the contributions of self-employed individuals.

The exchange highlighted the importance of strengthening the entrepreneurial spirit in Europe and laying the foundation for a successful economic future. Engin Eroğlu emphasized that collaboration, particularly with this large group of entrepreneurs who are often underrepresented in Brussels, is a vital step toward developing practical solutions. All participants agreed: much work lies ahead, but the path for constructive progress is clear.
