SME Connect Forum for Better Regulation:
Improving Legislative Processes
Better regulation has long been a priority within the EU, yet recent criticism has pointed to the burdensome bureaucracy and challenges SMEs face in navigating regulatory processes. This discussion aims to explore methods for making these processes smarter, more transparent, and more effective, emphasizing the “Think Small First” principle and a more robust, functional SME Test.
The European Commission, Members of Parliament, and Member States are all integral to advancing these objectives. This debate is intended as a starting point to support their efforts, involving the wider business ecosystem to collaboratively develop practical solutions that enhance outcomes for SMEs. By bringing together these key decision-makers, we aim to foster a holistic, balanced approach where each institution contributes to making regulation more functional and effective.
The SME Connect Forum for Better Regulation, established by SME Connect network members, serves as a dedicated platform for discussions, debates, and idea exchange focused on improving legislative processes, particularly in addressing challenges for and impacts on SMEs. The forum's initiators are committed to promoting a constructive dialogue aimed at improving legislative processes and fostering effective cooperation on these critical issues for SMEs. -
